Casey Hayes-Deats is a West Virginia native who spent more than a decade in New York City before landing in Washington, DC. In addition to working at CATF during past summer seasons, she is the former Education Manager of BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange and assistant to the executive director of The Chocolate Factory Theater in Long Island City, Queens. Her favorite projects as a theater-artist include producing and performing in the New York Premiere of Martin Crimp’s translation of Pains of Youth and co-directing More Than Memory, an arts-based action research project that developed a process for devising and performing theater in collaboration with seniors with dementia. Casey’s personal mission is to bridge difference, create understanding, and improve lives through theater. She is a graduate of Columbia University, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and the City University of New York’s master’s program in Applied Theater.
