COVID-19 Response

In this very challenging time, the Contemporary American Theater Festival wants you to be safe. Take care of yourself and loved ones. Now more than ever, this is a time that we need our story tellers. Reflections, imaginings and stories are one of the best ways we can be together in insolation and share support.

The Contemporary American Theater Festival is currently continuing plans for the 2020 season.  My staff and I are closely monitoring and adjusting to this ever-changing situation to ensure the health, wellness, and safety of our patrons, artists, and staff. We will continue to communicate with you about our plans.

If you have already purchased your tickets – we hope to see you in Shepherdstown as we continue to produce and development new American theater, while adapting with inspiring, innovative ways to share our season as may be needed.

If you decide to not join us for our 30th Anniversary, we hope you will consider converting your ticket purchase into a donation. Your contribution to the Festival will make an enormous impact as we move forward in our 2020 planning.

However, we understand that this option might not be possible for all patrons. CATF is also offering the opportunity to receive a full refund on your tickets for the 2020 season.

Should you like to convert your tickets into a donation or request a refund, click here and complete our online form so we can adjust your order.

If you are thinking of purchasing tickets – we encourage you to experience the dynamic and daring plays in the 2020 Season. Should your plans change, please know we are here to assist you.

Here are other ways that CATF is adapting to the current circumstances:

  • Working from home. The CATF staff are working from home until further notice. Should you work with a staff member, the most effective form of making contact is email. Click here to access staff email address.
  • Box Office. Please be patient with us as our box office staff is experiencing an increase of activity. To contact the box office, call 800.999.CATF (2283). If we are assisting other patrons, please leave us a voicemail. You can also email the box office at  boxoffice@catf.org.
  • Online events. CATF has transformed the Shepherdstown Sneak Peek on Friday, March 20 to an exclusively online event. We will keep you updated if we convert other events from in-person to online events.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to new American plays. We look forward to a time when we will see you once again in Shepherdstown.

Stay safe,

Ed Herendeen
