WEEK # 2

After a strong opening weekend our work is creating a good buzz in the local and regional community. Our post show TALK-BACKS were well attended and full of lively comments and questions. Today we are hosting our second BOARD-TO-BOARD luncheon and dinner. We are expecting over thirty guest from Washington D.C. and Baltimore professional non-profit theater boards to join us for a day of plays and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for different theater board members to meet our trustees and discover our work. We call this landmark event BOARD-TO-BOARD.

The Repertory is gaining momentum. The performances are growing and receiving positive reviews from our patrons. I am looking forward to “talking theater” with you. Send me your comments. Please tell your friends that there are still good seats available…We have created several opportunities for you to “talktheater” with us. We will host our second talktheater breakfast tomorrow at 10AM…please join me for a conversation on the 2009 Repertory.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our three theaters throughout the festival.

    Hi all,
The quality of this year’s plays is great. I’m enjoying ushering and guiding too. It feels special to be around the theatre and the fine people involved with the festival. I’ve seen Farragut twice and actually enjoyed it more the second time. I think the first time was a “shock” due to the edgy, hardhitting nature of the presentation. I was ready or accustomed to it the second time and found myself tapping my foot to the scene change music. Excellent writing, directing, and acting.

Looking forward to Fifty Words and Dear Sara Jane this weekend… after which Elly and I will have seen all five of the Repertoire. This has been a great series of shows so far… Yankee Tavern is my current favorite… and we also can’t wait for Tuesday’s reading at Full Circle.

Thanks for your comments Charlie. I think it is always a good experience to revisit a performance. Live theater is live…it grows and you can see different things when you see a play more than once.
